Issue 10 23 June 2021
From the Principal's Desk
This is the final newsletter for Term 2. I would like to wish all our students and their families a happy and safe Winter Break. Congratulations to all our students on an excellent semester. It has been great seeing students working hard and learning in all classrooms. After the uncertainty and challenges of last year it has been great to have things almost back to normal this semester.
Sports Carnivals
It was great to finish of the semester with our Junior and Senior Athletics Carnivals. A special mention to Miss Candice Humphreys for convening both events. It was fantastic to welcome parents and spectators back to these events. Eligible students will be invited to represent our school at the South Burnett District Sports Carnival next term.
Staffing Changes
Sadly, there are some staff who will not be back in Semester 2. Mrs Jill Cartmill will be on leave for the rest of the year. Her energy, enthusiasm and expertise to do with all things Musical will be missed and we look forward to her returning in 2022. Acting Head of Department Miss Cinita Markey is finishing her 9 month contract at the end of this term. I would like to warmly thank Miss Markey for her hard work and dedication here at Kingaroy State School and wish her all the best for the future.
Next term we will be welcoming back Head of Department Mrs Courtney Turner to the school’s Leadership Team after a stint of maternity leave. Mrs Turner will be known to most of our families and it is great to have her back. I would also like to warmly welcome Mrs Clarissa Prescott to our staff for Semester 2. Clarissa will be teaching Health (years 1 to 6) and Drama to Prep.
Parent Teacher Interviews
Our Parent Teacher interviews will be happening in Term 3. Information about when these interviews are taking place and how they can be booked will be sent out early in Term 3. I strongly encourage all parents & carers to take the opportunity to book a parent teacher interview with their child’s teacher.

PE News
On Tuesday June 1st, two representatives from Kingaroy State School competed as a part of the South Burnett Cross Country team in Gayndah.
