Welcome to Term 2,
A warm welcome back to school to all our students. Classes have settled back into routines very well and it’s been great to see our students highly engaged and enjoying learning whenever I visit a classroom. Welcome to a number of new families to our school, I know that you will thoroughly enjoy living in Kingaroy and attending our school.
ANZAC Day March: Thank you very much to all our families and students who participated in Monday’s ANZAC Day community march. It was a great turnout given the wet conditions. Your efforts and time were greatly appreciated.
Farewell Hannah Payne: Last week we said goodbye to our Business Manager Hannah Payne. On behalf of the KSS community I would like to thank Hannah for her work and wish her and her family all the best for their move to Brisbane. We are currently undertaking a recruitment process for the Business Manager position and it is my aim to have this completed by Week 3.
Welcome Stephanie Turner: Please join me in welcoming Miss Stephanie Turner to our school. Stephanie joins our Inclusion Team and has significant experience in this area, including working in Special Schools in Brisbane.
District Cross Country Trial: Congratulations to the many students who represented our school in yesterday’s South Burnett District Cross Country. Despite very bad weather the students competed very well and we had a number of students qualify to represent our district at the Wide Bay Regional Cross Country Carnival.

Class News PB
During the first week of school we began to look at retelling stories. We focused on The Little Red Hen. We acted it out and wrote simple sentences about it. In Maths we are looking at patterning and daily calendars.
We also learnt about ANZAC Day. ANZAC Day is a day to remember those who went to war to fight for our freedom. ANZAC is an acronym (a word made up from the first letters of the words.) It stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corp. We made poppies, wreaths and attended the school service. Many students also walked in the Town March.

Tuckshop
Hello friends,
As you may all be aware by now, our tuckshop is CLOSED until further notice.
The P&C committee is in the process of finding a new convenor to re-open our beloved Tuckshop in the near future, but until then, we would sincerely like to apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
To re-open the tuckshop and continue to provide a service to the community in 2022, we will also require a steady stream of volunteer support from you. Without this support, the tuckshop will not be sustainable.
Please consider the possibility of donating a couple of hours here and there to keep this wonderful service going. We will provide opportunities for you to nominate your time when the tuckshop is up and running again.
School hats which were previously sold and picked up at the tuckshop can now be purchased at the office.
Mother’s Day Stall
The P&C will not be holding a Mother’s Day stall this year.
But, we would love to wish all of our wonderful, warrior-like mum’s a
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY for 2022!
May your children be blessed with excellent emotional control for the day, your husband be overcome with a fever to clean, and may the lunches and dinners magically manifest themselves and dishes disappear just as swiftly. May your breakfast be served in bed and your coffee be enjoyed hot and uninterrupted.
No presents needed. Have a Great Day!!!
Annual General Meeting
Please consider nominating for a place on our P&C committee at our upcoming AGM on
Wednesday 11th May 2022.
Help the P&C be a voice for our families in shaping the school experience of our kids and providing opportunities for them to grow into capable, resilient and creative little people.
No skills required, we are all learning as we go.
