Issue 19 24 November 2021
From the Principals Desk
Welcome to Week 9!
We are fast approaching the end of the school year. Our classroom teachers are busy marking and monitoring student work, adding it to assessment folios and calculating levels of achievement. This is the work that will be communicated in our student’s Semester 2 reports. I’m looking forward to sharing this information with you along with how your child is using reading and writing to progress their learning.
Semester 2 Report Cards
These will be sent home with all students on Wednesday 8th December, along with information about your child’s class and teacher for 2022. These are the culmination of the last semester’s worth of work. Please let the office know if your child will not be at school on this day so arrangements can be made to send this information home by post.
Thank you
A warm thank you to the families who have been involved in our P&C Working Bee’s over the last month. Your time and effort is greatly appreciated and the gardens are looking fantastic. A special mention to our P&C President Karmen Cleveland for co-ordinating these events.
Departing Staff
At the end of this year we say goodbye to a number of staff members. On behalf of the entire Kingaroy State School community I would like to thank all these individuals for their amazing work at our school over many years. We all know that fathers play a vital role in family life. Sometimes Dads need resources and information to support their unique parenting journey. The organisation Support for Fathers provides dads with options and information about fatherhood, relationships with their partner, and connecting with their kids. The website also includes resources for dads and families – to explore, visit: https://supportforfathers.com.au/

Thankyou...
What a fantastic year in terms of growth and support within our P&C community. We have accomplished a tremendous amount around the school including the renewal of our garden spaces, numerous fundraisers and stalls, and recently securing funding to go towards nature play spaces around the school. None of this could have been achieved without the support of families.
The P&C would like to thank the following people and businesses for their continued support with projects for the school in 2021…
Angela Griffith and the team from Bunya Valley Landcare
Andrew and Libby Keenan Boonenne Timbers
Leanne Cordero Complete Performance Solutions
Daryl Schloss Kingaroy Garden Centre
These wonderful people have taken their own precious time and valued resources to assist us with our goals as a school community, with the hope that our school can provide the best possible opportunities for our children.
I would also like to personally thank the committee members, Candice Braithwaite, Sharon Dale, Samantha Hartshorn, and existing committee members Michelle Meagher, Shaun Bliesner, Kristen Vickery for your continued support and commitment to the P&C and efforts to bring everything up and running again after covid last year. It has been hard work. Well done team.
Thank you Carmen Peddle for being the ongoing behind the scenes support. Your contribution has been epic and hasn’t gone un-noticed. You are a great asset to our committee.
Thank you to our hard working school leaders who have continued to help support the ideas and ideals of our P&C. Your patience and openness we wish to acknowledge with gratitude and respect. Thankyou Masina, Jason, Trish and Hannah.
Thank you to all families who have donated their time towards fundraising events as well our Gardening Bee’s and tuckshop this year. We put out the call for help and you responded willingly. What an amazing effort! It has been great fun, and the connections and friendships formed have by far been the best part.
Thank you Chris Lee, our wonderful tuckshop convenor. You have been putting in tiresome hours sometimes with and sometimes without help to feed our hungry little children. (And you have shovelled a mountain of mulch onto those garden beds!) Thankyou.
Everything that we have achieved this year has come from hard work, team work, respect, and dedication. The people above need to be commended for that.
I have thoroughly enjoyed serving as president, and with many exciting initiatives on the agenda for 2022… I whole-heartedly look forward to another year coming together with you all.
Warm Regards,
Karmen Cleveland
